HAZARD MITIGATION DRAINAGE SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
EAST CARROLL PARISH, LOUISIANA
East Carroll Parish Police Jury awarded Gaea a prime contract to provide engineering services on eight drainage projects throughout the Parish. The projects are funded by the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. Gaea employees conducted a site visit to document the current drainage situation in the Parish. Using information gathered at the site, Gaea is creating a HEC-HMS model to determine the runoff through the system for the 10, 25, 50, and 100-year, 24-hour storm events. We are also developing a HEC-RAS model to determine the capacity of the system in its current state and to size new drainage structures to handle the design storm runoff. Once the design is complete and approved by the Parish, Gaea will manage construction bids and site inspections, including final inspections.
